On 7 May, the eighth round match between Western League regular season and Fukuoka Softbank Hiroshima at Tamahome Stadium Chikugo was win by Fukuoka Softbank with a score of 5-3.

Fukuoka Softbank took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single by Richard with one out on a doble by Downs. Kenta Tanigawara followed with a hit and added one more run on Kaito Shigematsu 's infield grounder. In the bottom of the sixth, they scored their third run on Richard's No. 4 solo shot.

Starting pitcher Yugo Maeda pitcher carried inning runner on his back through three innings, but he was held runs by shutting down the plate. He left the game with two outs in the top of the fourth inning and went 3.2 innings on 60 pitches with 4 hit 1 Hit by Pitch 5 strike out runs. Kazuo Ono pitcher tied the bases hit until the fifth inning, when Kento Nakamura hit a solo shot with two outs in the top of the sixth. In the top of the seventh, Shunsuke Iwasaki pitcher pinch-hit three consecutive singles to put runners on bases loaded with no outs and gave up one run in double play.

In the bottom of the seventh, back-to-back Hit by Pitch by Keita Yamamoto doble, Tomoya Inoue and Richard loaded back-to-back with two bases loaded outs, and Tanigawara added two more runs on an RBI single. Yuwa Miyasato pitcher retired three batters in the top of the eighth inning and Yuki Tsumori in the top of the ninth. pitcher gave up one goal but closed out the game with a 5-3 lead. Richard scored five goals in 9 hit, including 2 hit 2 RBI and Tanigawara 3 hit 2 RBI, including one shot, to win back-to-back games against Hiroshima.
